Assistant Site Manager - Drapes

Our award-winning Drapes team is looking for a highly organised individual, with a good eye for detail, who can lead a crew. 

We supply exhibition halls including ExCeL, Olympia and NEC, as well as some European venues.

We are renowned for the outstanding quality of service delivery to organisers and experiential agencies alike and the successful candidate will be key in maintaining and developing our great reputation. Punctuality and good people skills are essential.  Full training of the methods of work will be provided.

The core target market is exhibition, conference and event organisers and contractors so previous experience of the events industry would be an advantage, it is by no means a pre-requisite and we look forward to hearing from candidates of all backgrounds who are keen to become part of our continuing success story.

Job responsibilities include:

Site Work

  • Overseeing the unloading/loading of lorries
  • Leading the team to install/remove the job efficiently, safely and on time to a high standard
  • Be adaptable to last minute client changes
  • Training new team members
  • Check the quality of the finished job and maintain standards
  • Ensure all team members adhere to H&S requirements - PPE, licences for plant etc and follow method statements. 

 Planning

  • Organise multiple jobs and ensure all sites have the correct equipment
  • Plan the logistics of multiple jobs simultaneously
  • Control the distribution of stock in peak times
  • Input ideas to overcome perceived problems

Yard

  • Maintain the quality of the stock
  • Tidy and order the yard
  • Small Repairs
  • Ensure the safe and careful storage of equipment
  • Overseeing the unloading/loading of lorries

Health and Safety and Training

  • Ensure all staff adhere to all H&S requirements, including PPE, that may be site specific
  • Ensure all staff follow pre-approved method statements and procedure
  • Provide training and support to all staff to enable them to produce consistently good results
