Baby Gracie May’s a Showman’s Show star for Thorns Group

They certainly start them young at Thorns Group these days! Meet the latest addition to the Thorns team…six-month-old Gracie May Whitecross (Mackenzie).

Little Gracie May was a star attraction on Thorns’ stand at the 2007 Showman’s Show at Newbury, Berkshire – keeping an eye on mum Clair Whitecross who is the group’s Sales Director.

Show Director Stephen Lance ensured Gracie May got special billing by arranging a VIB (Very Important Baby) pass for her. And baby Gracie May was even dressed suitably for the occasion in an outfit to match the vibrant colours of the innovative range of furniture on display.

Central to Thorns’ exhibit was the illuminated Atlantis bar – a vibrant bar area in a funky black-and-pink colour scheme. Thorns also displayed items from its state-of-the-art catering equipment including a collection of its most popular ranges such as stainless steel Monteverdi cutlery, Perception glassware, Ascot, Havanna and Sonata china, black-and-white square plates, colourful goblets and even gold-patterned spiral tulips to keep visitors occupied.

A steady flow of visitors passed through Thorns’ stand which was shared with other industry-leading organisations The White Book and Mar-key Marquee. Gracie May certainly gave visitors plenty to smile about but dad Duncan Mackenzie was on hand to whisk his daughter off around the showground once Clair got down to the serious business of networking with potential new clients.

Clair is not the only one who has had a new arrival at Thorns. Baby fever has spread to the London office with receptionist Katie Crooks giving birth to a little girl called Sofia and Account Manager Sarah Forbes has had a baby boy called Robbie. In Manchester Denise Toner, Event Support Manager gave birth to a boy named Lewis and Account Manager Joanne Monaghan also gave birth to a boy called Ethan.  All in the last year!

Thorns has over 50 years’ experience in the industry. The market-leading group has expanded both organically and via acquisitions and has also managed to strengthen its staff by attracting many of the best people working in the events and exhibitions industries. It has been a regular supporter of the Showman’s Show.
