Thorns Group works its animal magic at the Royal Show

Visitors to England’s most prestigious agricultural event, the Royal Show, were sitting comfortably thanks to Thorns Group’s Birmingham operation.
As the cows, sheep and horses enjoyed VIP facilities in their own livestock marquees, Thorns kept the human visitors happy by supplying a wide range of stylish furniture and office equipment for numerous high-profile areas, from the Royal Box to the Members’ Lounge.
This is the second year that Thorns, the leading independent supplier to the UK’s events sector, had played a key role at the Royal Show. Hosted at Stoneleigh Park amidst 250 acres of beautiful Warwickshire countryside, the annual event in early July regularly attracts over 140,000 visitors.
Thorns helped to provide that “wow” factor in many of the public areas, from the Food Hall and Royal Pavilion to the VIP marquee and registration area. This involved supplying hundreds of different items including lounge furniture, lockable cupboards, office desks, chairs and even a lectern for the daily seminar sessions that featured more than 20 speakers talking on today’s hot rural issues.
Clair Whitecross, Thorns’ Group Sales Director, said: “We are delighted to be back at the prestigious Royal Show again this year after a very successful event in 2006. The wet weather meant the show was a little more challenging this year but we certainly helped the country’s top agricultural celebration go with a swing.”
