Thorns – coming to a cinema near you soon!

Thorns Group is now officially a supplier to the stars. Acting heartthrob Matthew Macfadyen has been filmed by a Thorns desk and lingered by a Thorns filing cabinet. And the whole set is due to be on the big screen soon in the new feature film, Incendiary, starring Ewan McGregor.
Thorns sales executive Darren Jackson managed to save the day for Pinewood Studios and the production company, Archer Films. They had been let down at the 11th hour by one of their suppliers but in only a few hours, Darren managed to put together an emergency order of 38 desks, 37 lockable cupboards, 26 filing cabinets, reception seating and 10 chrome waste-paper bins.
This was then delivered the following day to the set – a derelict building at South Bank University in London. The office block was a disused wreck but the view overlooking the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament was stunning.
The set designers worked their magic. Thorns’ sleek, stylish black-and-white office furniture fitted in perfectly and helped to transform a floor of the derelict building into a totally realistic film-set office.
Gemma Ryan, Set Decorator from Incendiary Ltd and Archer Films, said: “Darren was absolutely brilliant. He made the set look fantastic.”
Darren added: “We were delighted to help out Pinewood Studios. Staff at Thorns pull out all the stops when our customers are facing an emergency. The set looked amazing. The room was painted black and our black-and-white furniture complemented the stylish office-look perfectly.”
Film buffs can catch a glimpse of Thorns’ starring role when the film is released at the end of the year. Written and directed by Sharon Maguire (Bridget Jones’s Diary), the film stars Ewan McGregor appearing with Michelle Williams (Brokeback Mountain) and Matthew Macfadyen (Pride and Prejudice). Incendiary charts the story of a woman whose life is torn apart when her husband and infant son are killed in a suicide bombing at a football match.
Matthew Macfadyen plays a special branch detective trying to track down the killers. He is promoted and lands a slick new office at Scotland Yard – the sleek black and white set, overlooking the Thames.
Don’t miss Thorns’ desks, cupboards and cabinets, appearing at a cinema near you, from Christmas 2007!
