Exhibitions contracts herald a bumper month for Thorns

Thorns Group has strengthened its position in the UK’s exhibitions market after securing deals to supply furniture to a number of high-profile events.
During a bumper May, the group has been tackling contracts that range from the BBC Good Homes Show at Birmingham’s NEC to a series of events at London’s ExCeL that include the 2005 Bathrooms and Kitchens Expo and the London International Wine & Spirits Fair.
Other events on the diary for Thorns Group during May include the 2005 Venuemasters Exhibition at London’s Business Design Centre and the Facilities Show, the Safety & Health Expo and global security event IFSEC, all of which have been taking place at Birmingham’s NEC.
The growing number of exhibitions contracts have come in the same month that Thorns Group is contracted to supply huge amounts of furniture to the Chelsea Flower Show in west London. The group is the official furniture supplier to the world-famous horticultural event, with thousands of items of equipment being used across the site, including in the show’s hospitality areas and offices, media centre, staff catering facilities, police and safety control areas and public dining rooms.
Thorns Group has also been contracted to supply furniture for the Chelsea Flower Show’s star-studded gala preview dinner, one of the highlights of the annual event.
Billy O’Connell, Thorns Group’s Head of Sales, said: “Thorns Group has secured more than 20 new exhibitions contracts over recent months – all helping to reinforce our position as a leading supplier of furniture to the sector.”
He added: “We are very proud of the excellent working relationships we have established with the country’s top exhibitions organisers and Britain’s leading venues. We look forward to building even stronger links with these organisations in the future.”
The group has been supplying a wide selection of furniture to its exhibitions clients, but has seen growing demand for its recently launched Vision range, which was devised in-house by Thorns Group’s own design team. The range received rave reviews after debuting at this spring’s industry trade shows.
